Book on WhatsAppRafting and canyoning in one day, for groups who want more than a run down the river. You start with the longest rafting route of the season on the Struma river in the Kresna Gorge, about 90 minutes south of Sofia, then walk up to Kazanite, a cold mountain stream where you jump from waterfalls into deep pools. The whole day takes about 4 hours, you need no experience, and it costs €55 per person with all the gear, from four people. It runs from May to October. We book it, send you the meeting point and can drive you there.

With an instructor in your boat you take the longest rafting run of the season down the Struma, through rapids of different strength and calmer stretches between the rock walls of the Kresna Gorge. In spring the river is higher and the route is about 12 km; from August it is about 8 km. After the rafting you change into dry clothes or stay in your wetsuit, and walk up to Kazanite, a small mountain river that has carved round pools into the rock. The water is cold and clear, and you jump from the waterfalls and swim in the pools. It is the best way to cool off on a hot summer day.
Only want the river? Struma rafting is the same run on its own for €40 and starts from 2 people. Want a full canyon with slides and longer swims? Vlahi river canyoning is a separate canyon in the Pirin foothills, 3 to 4 hours, for €45. This day puts the rafting and the waterfalls at Kazanite together, which is why groups, stag dos and friends on a summer weekend usually pick it.
The €55 covers the whole day: the rafting gear, a qualified rafting instructor, the safety briefing, transport along the rafting route, the walk to Kazanite, insurance, changing rooms and outdoor showers, lockers and guarded parking at the base. Getting to the base and accommodation are not included, and we can arrange the transfer from Sofia if you need it.
