Sofia's museums are the easy answer to a cold or rainy day. The Museum of Illusions fills 400 m² in the city centre with tilted rooms, mirrors and optical tricks that kids and adults both enjoy. Tickets start at €6, and Trail of Angels is a VR experience you can add to your visit. The Red Flat is a 1980s apartment where you can open every drawer and hear the story of one Bulgarian family on an audio guide. Adult tickets are €9.20.

If you would rather taste the culture, the Rakia Museum has a guided tour with tastings from €20, a private Bulgarian wine tasting is €30 per person, and the whiskey tasting starts at €54. The museums are open every day.
