For 3 to 4 hours you follow the river down the gorge, sliding along smooth rock chutes, jumping into deep green pools and swimming under small waterfalls. You need no experience, children are welcome with an adult, and it costs €45 per person with all the gear, from six people. It runs from June to October and is at its best on hot summer days. We book it, send you the meeting point and can drive you there.

After a short walk in, you are in the water almost the whole time: you slide down natural rock chutes, jump into round pools the river has carved out, wade through narrow passages and pass under small waterfalls, with the rock formations around you showing how strong the river can be. The instructor shows you where to jump and where to slide. Vlahi river canyoning is made for hot summer days, when the cold mountain water feels best.
The €45 covers the whole canyon: the gear, a qualified instructor, a safety briefing, the drive from the base to the river and back, and insurance. The gear is cleaned with disinfectant after every use. Getting to the base is not included, and we can arrange the transfer from Sofia if you need it.
