Your instructor wears a camera on the wrist and films you up close, so your face is in every shot. Available from 3,000 m (€250) and 4,000 m (€300).

A second skydiver jumps with you and films from the side, for the wide shots of the exit and the freefall. From 4,000 m only: €390, or €405 as premium with the handycam too.

Is a tandem skydive safe?

The dropzone is a member of the USPA (United States Parachute Association) and works under a Bulgarian permit for specialised air operations. You jump with a professional tandem instructor on certified equipment, after a briefing on the ground. Jumps only go ahead when the weather allows, and the instructor can stop a jump if the conditions or your health make it unsafe. The aircraft climbs to 4,000 m in about 12 minutes.

Skydiving for groups and stag dos

The aircraft takes up to six skydivers, so three tandem pairs go up on the same flight, and three friends jumping together from 4,000 m pay the group price. Friends who do not jump can watch from the airfield, where there is a restaurant. Jump first and celebrate later: nobody who has been drinking goes up. Make it a full adrenaline weekend with a bungee jump from a hot air balloon or an ATV tour.

How much does a tandem skydive near Sofia cost?+

A tandem skydive from 3,000 m is €190, or €250 with handycam video. From 4,000 m it is €240, €300 with handycam, €390 with a cameraman and €405 for premium video. Three friends from 4,000 m pay €690 together, or €855 with handycam. Hotel pick-up is extra.

Do I need any experience?+

No. You are attached to a professional instructor who handles the exit, the parachute and the landing. A short briefing before the climb is all you need.

Which height should I choose?+

From 4,000 m you get about 60 seconds of freefall at up to 240 km/h. From 3,000 m the freefall is shorter and the price is lower. If you want to feel freefall properly, choose 4,000 m, which is also the height for the cameraman and premium video.

Is there a weight limit?+

Yes, 100 kg including clothes and shoes. The instructor can allow 1 to 2 kg more on the day, but not above that, because of the opening shock and the landing.

How old do I need to be?+

From 12, depending on build and the instructor's judgement. There is no upper age limit if you are in good health. Under 18, a parent comes along and signs the declaration on site.

Who should not jump?+

Jumps are not possible during pregnancy, with high blood pressure or with an ear or nose inflammation. Talk to your doctor first if you have epilepsy, a heart condition, a mental illness or a serious back, joint or bone injury.

Can we drink before the jump?+

No. Alcohol, including beer, and drugs are not allowed before a jump, and the instructor will not take up anyone who has been drinking. If anyone is turned away because of alcohol or drugs, the money is not refunded. Eat something light and keep the drinks for after.

What should I wear? Can I jump with glasses?+

Comfortable clothes and trainers with laces, no flip-flops, sandals or shoes with hooks. On cold days you get gloves and an overall. Glasses and contact lenses are fine: you get goggles that go over them.

What if the weather is bad?+

Skydiving depends on the weather. We check the forecast with the dropzone and tell you if conditions change. If the jump cannot go ahead, you choose a new date or a full refund.

How far is it from Sofia, and can you pick us up?+

The airfield is near Ihtiman, about 50 km east of Sofia along the Trakia motorway, around 45 minutes by car. We send you the exact meeting point, or pick you up from your hotel in Sofia: €160 for up to 3 people or €220 for up to 8, return, paid in cash to the driver.

How do I pay, and can I cancel?+

Checking dates is free. Once we confirm, we send you a secure card payment link, and full payment secures your jump. Cancel at least 48 hours before for a full refund; later cancellations and no-shows are not refunded. If you arrive less than 30 minutes before your slot, you jump at the first free time that day or the next.
