The route mixes rapids of different strength with calm stretches where you can rest and take in the cliffs and the forest. You need no experience, children are welcome with an adult, and it costs €40 per person with all the gear, from four people. It runs every day from April to October. We book it, send you the meeting point and can arrange the drive.

Iskar river rafting is the calmer and closer option: about an hour from the city, 1.5 to 2 hours on the water, with rapids of varying strength and quiet stretches in between. That makes it the natural pick for families, first timers and anyone who wants to enjoy the gorge as much as the rapids. If your group wants more white water and a bigger adrenaline hit, go for the Struma.
The €40 covers everything you need on the river: a wetsuit, neoprene shoes, a helmet, a splash jacket and a life jacket, a qualified instructor and a safety briefing before you set off. After the run, transport takes the group back along the route to the start, where there are changing rooms. Insurance for the descent is included too. Food, drinks and getting to the start point are not included.

Iskar Gorge rafting starts on the Iskar river, about an hour north of Sofia. We send you the exact meeting point when we confirm your booking. You can drive and park on site, take the train from Sofia, or ask us for a transfer from your hotel.
Leave time for the gorge itself. The Seven Thrones and Cherepish monasteries, the Ritlite rock walls and the Vazov eco-trail to the Skaklya waterfall are all nearby, which makes the rafting an easy full day trip from Sofia.
