The flights start from a small airfield about 30 minutes north of Sofia, and the route takes in the Iskar Gorge and the Balkan range. No licence and no flying experience are needed. A 20-minute flight costs €130, or choose 40 minutes for €250 and a longer turn as pilot.

You climb in through the side door, put on a headset and sit next to your instructor, with a wide view through the windscreen and side windows. It takes off from a real runway and flies over real countryside, so what you feel through the controls is the plane answering you.
This is a flying lesson, not a sightseeing ride. After a short briefing on the ground, your instructor takes off and, once you are in the air, hands you the controls. You steer the plane yourself while the instructor watches and can take over at any moment. The route is set on the day by the weather, with views over the Iskar Gorge and the Balkan range. The 40-minute flight gives you more time as pilot and more of the route.
We also arrange gyrocopter flights from the same airfield. The difference is the machine: the Apollo Fox flies on fixed wings like any aeroplane, while a gyrocopter gets its lift from a free-spinning rotor on top.
