Sofia has two kinds of shooting experience. The outdoor range in Lozen, about 30 minutes from the centre, is the one for heavy weapons: AK-47, M16, a .308 sniper rifle on a 100-metre target with a live camera, shotgun, Glock and .357 Magnum, in 6 packages from €70 to €130. The indoor range in the city runs year-round with 5 packages from €31 to €81, pistols to shotgun, where each person picks their own. No experience needed for either, 18+ only, no alcohol before shooting.

In Bulgaria you can, at a licensed range, with an instructor next to you the whole time. You don't need a licence, experience or your own gear. You need to be 18 and sober.
We book both ranges every week, for stag parties, birthdays, couples and corporate teams. The first question is always the same: outdoor or indoor? Here's the honest answer.
This is the one people talk about when they get home. It's a proper outdoor facility in the hills near Lozen, around 30 minutes from the centre, with longer distances and heavier weapons than any booth in town. The sniper packages use a .308 rifle on a 100-metre target with a live camera, so you see every hit on a screen as it lands.
Every session is about 90 minutes, led by an English-speaking instructor who does the briefing, the technique and the safety. Groups can split across packages or all do the same one.
The indoor range is in the city, climate-controlled and open whatever the weather, which makes it the go-to from November to March. There are 5 packages, and here's the nice part for mixed groups: each person chooses their own. The nervous first-timer takes two pistols and a shotgun for €31, the enthusiast takes the full arsenal for €81, and they shoot in the same session.
One thing to know: the Kalashnikov in the indoor packages fires blanks. The weight, noise and recoil feel are real, but there's no live round. Pistols, revolver, rifle and shotgun fire live ammunition. If firing a live AK-47 matters to you, go outdoor.
18+ only, and no alcohol before or during the session. Instructors will turn away anyone who's been drinking, so book shooting for the morning or early afternoon and save the bars for later. Wear closed shoes and comfortable clothes. Everything else, from weapons and ammo to targets and ear protection, is provided.
You'll get a safety briefing, then shoot each weapon with the instructor beside you. Nobody expects you to know anything, and first-timers make up a big part of every group.
