You sit back in a lounger with salt underfoot while a halogenerator fills the air with very fine particles of rock salt. This is halotherapy, or salt therapy: 40 minutes for €7, or 20 minutes for €5 for children. A machine called a halogenerator grinds pharmaceutical grade alpine rock salt into microscopic particles and blows them into the room, so the air feels like a salt cave or the seaside. You sit or lie back, breathe normally and switch off for 40 minutes. Many guests come for easier breathing, others simply for the quiet. It is a wellness session, not a medical treatment.
Children have their own 20-minute sessions for €5, and a card for 10 visits costs €36. Children under 4 go in with an adult. It is a calm room where kids sit with you and breathe the salty air, which is why parents in Sofia often book a course of visits in autumn and winter.
