Scenic Flights over Bulgaria – See the Country from Above

Most tourists see Bulgaria from the ground. A monastery courtyard, a cobblestoned street, a mountain trail. All beautiful. But there are two places in this country that only make complete sense from the air - and we can take you to both of them.

The Belogradchik Rocks and the Seven Rila Lakes are among the most spectacular natural landmarks in the Balkans. Neither is easy to fully appreciate at ground level. From a gyrocopter or a small plane, the scale becomes clear - and the experience becomes something you'll struggle to explain to people who weren't there.

Transport from Sofia to both locations can be arranged on request. Just mention it when booking.

Gyrocopter Flight over the Belogradchik Rocks
Northwestern Bulgaria - transport from Sofia available on request

The Belogradchik Rocks stretch 30 km across the northwestern corner of Bulgaria - formations up to 200 meters high, shaped over 200 million years into shapes that look like they were designed rather than eroded. Locals have named them: The Horseman, The Bear, The Nun, The Shepherd. From the ground, they're impressive. From a gyrocopter at 2,000 meters, they're otherworldly.

The gyrocopter is an open two-seater aircraft - not a helicopter, not a small plane, but something between the two. Slower and lower than a plane, which means you actually see what's below you. Just you, the pilot, and 30 minutes above one of Europe's most underrated natural wonders.

Duration: 30 minutes | Max weight: 110 kg | Age: 6+ (under 18 needs parental consent)
Year-round, weather permitting

Scenic Flight over the Belogradchik Rocks by Plane
Northwestern Bulgaria - transport from Sofia available on request

Same destination, different aircraft. The Apollo Fox is a sleek two-seater plane that takes you up to 700 meters - higher and faster than the gyrocopter, with a wider field of view. If you prefer the enclosed cockpit of a small plane over the open frame of a gyrocopter, this is the right choice. The rocks look just as extraordinary from either altitude.

Two options, one destination. The gyrocopter is lower and more intimate. The plane is faster and covers more ground. Both are unforgettable.

Gyrocopter Flight over the Seven Rila Lakes
Rila Mountains - transport from Sofia available on request

The Seven Rila Lakes sit above 2,000 meters in the Rila Mountains - glacial lakes named for their shapes: The Tear, The Eye, The Kidney, The Twin, The Trefoil, The Fish Lake, The Lower Lake. On a clear day the water mirrors the sky so precisely that the horizon disappears. Most people reach them after a 2–3 hour hike or a chairlift ride. You reach them in a gyrocopter.

The flight takes off from Novi Iskar and passes through Pernik, Dolna Dikanya, and Galabovtsi before reaching the lakes. Duration is 2.5 to 3 hours depending on wind conditions - the longest and most immersive flight on this list. The pilot adjusts altitude and speed to your preference. You choose whether to hover or fly like an arrow.

Duration: 2.5–3 hours | Max weight: 110 kg | Age: 6+ (under 18 needs parental consent)
Year-round, weather permitting
